A Bit About Us

We are a newly formed social enterpise who deliver educational talks, workshops and events focusing on mental health. ChangeTalks mission is to revolutionise the way we think, talk and act about mental health. We aim to reduce the stigma, increase awareness and promote coping strategies, leading to a healthier and happier mind.

What is it we do?

We are a North-West based organisation that hosts events for the public on a regular basis. Not only this, but we deliver talks for schools and colleges to tackle the ever-growing mental health problems which are effecting our community. We have a real focus on social and emotional learning, to engage young people to think differently.

Along-side this we offer talks to small and large corporations, talking about mental health within the work place. 1 in 3 sick days are now recorded as being mental health related, we want to deliver talks which enable people to understand and cope with mental health more.

Change Talks events provide a variety of topics, ranging on mental health issues, alongside professionals delivering talks on how to create a healthier mind. Many of our speakers have lived experience of mental health, many of which share their own powerful story of how they deal or how they overcame mental health issues. Utilising lived experience creates a truly inspirational event.

One area in which we are passionate with at Change Talks, is utilising functional medicine. Some of our speakers are well respected professionals within the health and well-being community. We have health and fitness entrepreneurs, educating the public on exercise and nutrition advice. Not only this, but we prove speakers who deliver insightful talks on mindfulness and mediation.

Sam Tyrer

Sam Tyrer

As a registered nurse Sam has empathy and understanding in spades, and had the dream to make all of this happen. And he won’t rest until it does.

The original brains behind ChangeTalks.

(We also let him think he’s the boss)

Lindsay Irwin

Lindsay Irwin

Another resgistered nurse, Lindsay heads up the schools and college segment of our cause.

Her willingness to ‘get stuck in’ is infectious, and she lifts the team with an unbeatable can do attitude.

An active speaker at the events, specialising in lady only seminars

Ben Jackson

Ben Jackson

A relative late starter to the team, Ben joined Change Talks after the inaugral event and couldn’t not offer his services after the experience.

Business management and marketing by trade but his enthusiasm for all things ‘techy’ earned him his role as resident ‘IT Consultant’.
